I'M Robotics Lab is launch on December 9th, 2023. This initiative is about transforming our ordinary hobby into a truly meaningful job. What makes a laboratory unique is that it is a specialized, purposeful workspace—one that gathers talented individuals, resources, and endless possibilities. Within such an environment, we can strive for ambitious goals with determination and discipline. I hope this is the beginning of something great—a story of success that traces its roots back to where it all started: in a humble garage.
As for the preparation, we’ve made remarkable progress in equipping the lab with everything we need. We’ve gathered a significant collection of tools and components, ranging from the basics to more specialized equipment. The lab is now outfitted with machines that enable us to cut, drill, melt, shape, sand, solder, and create, providing the versatility needed for any project. In terms of mechanical components, we’ve ensured the lab is stocked with a comprehensive variety of essentials: nuts, bolts, bearings, spacers, standoffs, inserts, and washers. On the electronics side, we’ve built a workstation that covers the fundamental needs for circuit design and prototyping.
For the future of this lab, we envision starting by continually gathering experience over the coming year. Our initial focus will be on developing one major project alongside several tiny ones to deepen our familiarity with the technology and enhance our skill. In the second year, we would bring out more sophisticated and exciting projects.
Community impact is a core value that inspired the creation of I'M Robotics Lab. We aspire to promote STEM and robotics education while fostering the spirit of open-source innovation. Whether it’s through sharing knowledge, mentoring aspiring innovators, or designing tools and solutions that benefit our community, we are dedicated to making a meaningful difference.
